Wash and go with Jane Carter and Flaxseed Gel :)

I just cowashed with Jane Carter Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner and I ended up doing a wash and go with Jane Carter's Creamy Leave in Styling Smoother (a little less than 3 pumps), Nourish and Shine a little more than a dime size, and The flaxseed gel from today's video, Making Flaxseed Gel (Requested) + Tipshttp://youtu.be/jqUcyP2YdQ0.

I used 15 pumps of the gel... sounds like a lot but the pump squirts small amounts lol.... hey it's from the dollar store!. :) I applied (scrunched) all the products in the order stated previously. I also sat under the dryer for about 15 -20 minutes on the cool setting  (which left my fro extremely smushed like always lol... so I just lifted the roots with my fingers and a pik.)

Yup! I'm still trying out things without using direct liquid oils on my hair for styling and it's working really well! As for Ms. Fro, I'm probably gonna stretch her out into a larger fro later on tonight after ice cream lol... but I LOVE the way it looks now that I'm undecided! :D

Hello Crystal,

I'm very happy to have come across your website. I have been natural for about 3 or so years; prior to that, I had permed hair from when I was a teenager although with no problem until I moved to the UK 8 years ago. Then the problem began, my hair just would break in patches leaving about 5mm on each part. It would grow and break and so on, so I decided to cut it and go natural. How I wish I can turn back the hands of the clock, and bumped into your blog then and not two weeks ago.

To cut the long story short, I hardly cared for my natural hair because I thought the problem was only to do with the hard water and relaxers. How very wrong I was! My hair continued breaking and is still breaking. I honestly can't remember what I was looking for online when I came across your blog. My hair is exactly like yours, so much that they could be twins, and I've been encouraged by how you rock yours.

I started treating my hair based mostly on what I've read from your blog and there's a difference already. My hair's so soft and more manageable than it's been in the past 3 years I'm stunned. I've even done the twist out on two occasions and I'm wearing it today. And my DH and son both love it. The first time I curIed my natural hair, a lady who came out of a salon walked up to me to take a closer look and said, 'I love your hair'. I couldn't believe it.

I'm a little bit conscious though as I have unequal length in places which are difficult to hide, but I don't want to cut my hair. I hope all that will be a thing of the past with the TLC I'm going to be giving my hair. I'd love any tips re the breakage.

THANKS A BUNCH, AND GOD BLESS.

Hey Anthonia!
I'm soo happy that this blog has been helpful for you!!! :D I'm sorry that you are experiencing breakage. It can be caused by so many things... hair tools, not enough moisture, too much moisture, not enough protein, too much protein, poor diet/hydration, allergic reaction, harsh manipulation, and so on. :/

I post a lot of videos on Youtube that go into further detail on topics such as breakage and shedding that I think may be helpful to you. I will link some videos that I think can help out. Stay encouraged, things will get better the more you stay in tune with what your hair is needing and making the necessary changes as needed.
I hope these help!

Thanks very much. I've gone through all the videos above and they're very very useful. Now I know a lot more than previously and I'm very happy now that I have more information about how to treat my hair.

The only challenge is that most of the hair products I'd like to try are not sold in the UK. Such a shame. Thankfully, the shea moisture brand is available albeit quite expensive.

Take care and God bless.

I'm happy to help out :) Don't worry about the products too much...maybe you can take a look at the ingredients in the products that aren't available there and see if there is something that has similar ingredients in the products that are available to you. :)
