STORY TIME! - 4 Yrs Natural, Why IS MY HAIR FALLING OUT?! - (Iron Deficiency Anemia Battle)- 4C Hair8/8/2016 New video! This video was really tough to upload, but I wanted to share my current struggle with iron deficiency anemia. I'm currently 4 years natural and instead of being entirely over the moon, I'm dealing with a pretty rough battle with excessive hair shedding. 😩 I know this video is crazy long, but many wanted to know what was going on, as well as what I'm planning on doing to get Ms. Fro back on track again. So, grab a snack, some tea, and perhaps a few tissues... I hope this video helps. Please don't forget to share this video with those who may be going through the same or something similar. 😕 https://youtu.be/AzQTiHXb0Fg #staystrong #keepmovingforward #naturalhair #4chair #4cnaturalhair#natural #hair #anemia #irondificiency #hairloss #naturalhaircommunity#beauty # afro #youtube #finestrands

I am having the same issues along with a vitamin d deficiency. I watched your video and I'm actually going to go get my hair cut today. It's thin and see through and I'm over it. I'm going to get a nice hair cut and start semi over. I am emotional as well so I get it. I'm changing my diet, taking my medicine and trying to do the best I can. I didn't know that it could take up to a year (or more) to correct this issue we are dealing with. Thanks for that nugget. Don't worry Kriss and all who share this same issue, we will get through this somehow. Say your prayers, take your medicine, drink plenty of water and change that diet. Equal balance of everything. Hair products may need to change however, I'm still researching on some stuff as I may do a ayurvedic diet for my hair with a sulfate shampoo (at least one) to act as my clarifying agent.

Same here! My iron deficiency anemia had wreaked havoc on my hair. I'm natural but wear my hair straight or in a stretched out state a lot because the shedding doesn't wrap around the good strands and great those it as well. When my hair is straight, the shed hairs just fall where they may and I have less mid shift breakage from the 4c entanglement. It's counterintuitive to the natural movement to wear your hair straight as a "protective" style, but it's the only thing that works for me as of now. *sigh* I just make sure that my bliw dry is never on high hot settings. A warm low setting takes longer but no heat damage.

We in this together. It's trial and error for us ALL. We trying to make it through. The same day I commented on this post I went to get a tapered cut. I just rather start over and I became very tired of spending so much time and taking so much care of hair that was going to eventually got back to feeling like straw by end of that same day. It was extremely dry and see thru so straight hair looked horrible on me. I just decided to give my hair a new start. I wish you the best through this trying time.
