SLAPS!  (Satin Lined Caps)  Review + Full DEMO! - An Easy Way to Protect/ Retain Moisture For Your Hair

I've always loved the look of beanies but never really wanted to go through the hassle of putting my bonnet/scarf on underneath the hat to protect my hair from the cotton or knit.  Not to mention, I'm definitely no seamstress lol!  So sewing my own satin fabric to a beanie would likely end up jacked ha ha!  So when I was contacted by SLAPS (Satin Lined Caps) by Grace Eleyae, I was thrilled to try out their cap!  Not only is it cute and stylish but it already has a satin lining built right in!  It doesn't get any better than protection and style in one! ;)

SLAPS (Satin Lined Caps)
by: Grace Eleyae
retail: $29.95

I want to start off by saying that I'm very pleased with my SLAPS cap and I would love to add more colors to my accessory stash. :)   I think it's a very cool hair accessory that is not only fly, but it's also multifunctional.  The SLAPS cap can be used for things such as a traditional sleep cap, deep conditioning aid cap, and even as an accessory that you wear outside the house.

Length:  The length of the SLAPS cap is about 10.5″ and the elastic band is about 21.75″ before stretching it out.  I personally find the cap fairly roomy and although it stays in place, it doesn't squeeze my brains out lol.  The elastic band is neatly placed inside the hemline and has a smooth finish.  I do wish that the hemline was fully encased in the satin to add additional protection to the hairline and protection from styling products staining the hemline. :)

Exterior:  The exterior of the SLAPS is made of rayon and spandex. It reminds me of a soft jersey dress or top. :)  The color I currently have (red), is a beautiful candy apple shade that is complementary to any skin tone.  I absolutely love it because it's not one of those "reds" that is seasonal only.  The company currently offers 12 colors to choose from and they are all gorgeous!

Interior:  The interior of the SLAPS is black and is made of Satin and Elastane. It is very smooth to the touch and doesn't dry out my hair at all.  This interior fabric by far beats all of the satin items I currently own lol!!!  I wish my "satin like slip" felt like this! ;)

Handling and Care:  SLAPS notes that the cap is safe for machine washing on the delicate cycle, and that it should be air dried.  I personally would wash my cap out by hand just to be sure it won't receive any damage from my washing machine.  I also want to note that it's a good idea to be mindful about the types of hair products you have in your hair while wearing the SLAPS.  Depending on the color you choose, oils and butters can stain the fabric and may not be able to be washed out.

Overall, I think this is a great addition to anyone's hair accessory stash!  I really dig it! ;)

My sister just has curly hair and she wants it to be well maintained and not be damaged by the sun this summer. My cousin suggested wearing satin lined caps and shared this article with her. It says here that this kind of cap is safe for washing machine and should be air dried.
