Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus Line :)

Price- $9.99- $10.99
Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus line is near and dear to me because it helped my transition to natural hair, go smoother. This is a line made with all natural ingredients and no chemicals.  I have learned soo much from this line over the past 10 months.  During the beginning of my transition I decided that I needed to branch off from using heat and heavy silicones.  I had caused way to much damage to my hair!  After much research, I came across this line and gave it a try.  After a couple of uses my hair completely changed!  I was using healthy products and less product on my dry hair!  I could not believe it.  It was soo moisturized that I even experienced moisture overload lol.  (I didn't even think that was possible for my hair! LOL)  But, I took it as blessing because it showed me that real moisture was finally being put into my hair.  This is when my eyes were opened and I realized that I needed to look for products that were simple but full of quality.

(I love this line, but because some of the products contain glycerin along with coconut oil, I do not use them as much because it is  getting cold outside. If I do....I'm sure to have very hard feeling hair! LOL)

The Curl and Shine Shampoo is the best shampoo I have ever used on my hair. I love that it is sulfate free and non stripping.  It cleans the scalp well and leaves a silky feel when rinsing it out.  This product smells amazing.  It has a light scent that's not overwhelming.  I use this shampoo on both of my boys hair and my husband even uses it :)  We all have different textures ranging from 1-4 lol.  Although I choose to only cowash my hair now,  I still love this shampoo and would recommend it without hesitation :)

I love the Curl and Style Milk :)  I have used this product since I began my transition to natural. This product is like a lightweight lotion and can be used as a leave-in condtioner.  It's a nice detangling aid and it smells great!   This product does not contain glycerin so I currently use this product mixed with water in a spray bottle whenever I want to add extra softness to my hair.  I even use it when I decide to re-twist my hair at night. It leaves my fro feeling soft and manageable. However, now that I'm fully natural I have to combine this with other things because it's too light to use alone.
I have used this product on both of my sons hair, which range somewhere between 2b and 3c textures. The Curl and Style Milk is so lighweight that it doesn't weigh their hair down. It works great for both them :)  If you have thicker hair, you may need to use quite a bit of this product.

The Curl Enhancing Smoothie  was the first product from this line that I tried.  It seems like it was soo long ago!  This product is a thick, creamy consistancy which makes it perfect for twisting/braiding.  It is very similar to the curl and style milk.  It leaves my hair smelling great and feeling soft :)  Even though the product is supposed to "enhance" curls, I don't think it really does that for me.  With that said,  I also don't have curls that "pop" naturally either LOL.  It leaves my hair with a slight sheen and a light hold when used for twisting.
I have used this on my childrens hair and even on my skin as a body cream at times lol. (Hopefully that's okay to do. lol)  I have noticed that if you are a little heavy handed with this product, it takes awhile to be absorbed by the hair and may leave a white residue.  This product does contain glycerin, so I do not currently use it during the colder months.

Okay, before I big chopped I was totally afraid to buy the Curling Souffle!  I was intrigued by this product from jump, however, there were soo many negative reviews concerning it.  I read and heard everything from "watery jello" to down right "dripping" down the necks of several users! LOL  So, this product was not on my list of things to try.
However, once I big chopped in August 2012, my twa was EXTREMELY dry.  It felt kind of "rug like" lol.  I knew I needed to find something as soon as possible to avoid starting my natural hair journey off on the wrong foot.  So, I started to look at the ingredients in the curling souffle and noticed that it was heavy glycerin based.  (Glycerin is a humectant so it draws in moisture from the air.)  This past summer was very hot and humid so I figured this product would help my thirsy twa.  Long story short, this product was amazing for my 4c hair!
The texture is very loose jello like, sticky, and slippery.  LOL (This doesn't sound too good huh?) Once I got past the unique texture, I fell in love with it.    A little of this goes a long way.  If over used expect a very slick and greasy feel on your hair.  However, I must say, when I first started using this product,  I used a little more than suggested because my hair was "that dry" (lol).  Even though I used too much, my hair felt fantastic.  It absorbed the extra oiliness within 1 day.  (My hair seems to soak up everything! lol)
Now that winter is nearing, I have put this product aside because of the glycerin base.  Since it's getting colder here on the east coast, there isn't as much moisture in the air for the glycerin to pull from, so this product doesn't make my hair feel as soft right now.  I have experienced soft and plush feeling hair that turned into hard and crispy feeling hair within hours of being out in cooler weather while using this product lol. (That was a very scary situation by the way. LOL)  So I'm saving the curling souffle for spring and summer :)  I love this product during warm weather!

Note:  I haven't tried this product for a wash and go with shingling.  I have only used it for twist outs and have had great results.

I hope this helps :)  If you haven't tried this product line and you are searching for great products,  keep the Coconut and Hibiscus line from Shea Moisture in mind.
Have you tried Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus line?  How do you use the products?

thanks for the review! I've been searching for a review of this particular line that covers all the products. I've only been able to find reviews on individual items in the line and the ones on target or walgreens are thorough or really go into detail why they do or don't like the product. I use the African Black Soap line to help with my seborrhea dermatitis but the line doesn't have a styling or leave in for after i wash to help with style my curls other than that its a great line. Thanks again for such a well detailed review! :)
