Okay, so recently I went to pick up a new bottle of Revlon Colorstay Makeup from my local Walmart because I was getting low on my old one. Just like every morning, I showered and got ready to do my makeup routine for the day. After shaking the bottle a little to mix the foundation, I took the top off and tipped the bottle in order to pour the makeup onto the back of my hand...and after several moments of waiting...nothing came out! LOL I looked inside the bottle to make sure there was actually makeup inside and to make sure I wasn't losing my mind (after all, it was pretty early! LOL) Well, the bottle was completely full! :O Needless to say, I was completely thrown off by this lol, I started to tap the bottle on the back of my hand to encourage the makeup to come out and.......nothing! So, I starting hitting the bottle against the back of my hand, pretty hard btw, to get it to come out! Nothing came out :( I even tried getting it to come out onto the palm of my hand! Sigh, after about 2 minutes of war, only a TINY bit came out! LOL From that tiny bit, I noticed that the foundation was a completely different texture than before. It was kind of like a "cream." It's much thicker than the foundation from my previous bottle. When I applied the makeup to my skin, it felt like it was whipped or something. ( It's funny because Revlon does in fact have a whipped makeup that I haven't tried yet, but would imagine it feeling very similar to this!) One good thing about this "possible" new formula, is that the coverage was much better than it was before. However, the color was also a little light for my skin tone at first. :/ I was immediately concerned about this lol, but after a few minutes, it blended perfectly to my skin tone as it once did. Phew! I'm really not sure if this is a new formula or if I just got a faulty one :/ Overall, I still love this foundation :D It's still awesome! It has the same great lasting power and natural looking finish (but now, it also has a little transfer which I'm not thrilled about...the old formula DID NOT transfer at all! So I hope they fix this... sigh) Most of all, I DO NOT like that the packaging makes it nearly impossible for the "cream like" makeup to come out lol! It usually takes me about 5 minutes to do my foundation and it took double the time because I was boxing with this bottle! SMH... Have a blessed day!

Yup! I actually have started getting used to the new one and using the right amount sigh... I also figured out how I need to apply it for me finally lol. I'm finding with the new formula it can be a little pasty looking if too much is used...so less has still been best lol. I wish they combined the coverage of the new formula with the stay/no transfer power of the old one...sigh

I know what you mean about Revlon being thick. Had the same trouble getting it to flow out of the bottle. Actually put hot water in the sink and let the bottle stay in there for a few minutes. Make sure it is tight. Also when I get down to the bottom of the makeup I store it in my medicine cabinet upside down so the next time I use it whatever is left is at the top.

I'm here from a Google search, and I could have written almost this same post! I've used this foundation for years, and in recent years I noticed it getting thinner, but it still had great coverage. I opened a new bottle today, that I purchased at Target. I shook it up and didn't hear the liquid moving. I opened the bottle and was shocked at the consistency of this thick stuff. It felt just like a whipped foundation, and a teeny little bit went a long way. I'm hoping it will still perform well for me though.

Crystal, thank you for your helpful post. I wish I had the foresight to stock up on the old tried-and-true formula. After my one good bottle is used up, then it might be Goodbye, Revlon. It's been a great DECADE :( I stuck with them when they added SoftFlex, but this new change? Unbearable and unwearable. Whomever "approved" this must not wear it themselves. I am so disappointed and dismayed :(

I agree! After many months of looking up reviews of the old formula, I finally decided to pick up the foundation. To my dismay, the formula was also real thick and thought it was just mine that was faulty, so I'm glad I read your article and now I know its the new formula. I'm not sure if its the formula or how im applying it but it comes out cakey and after a few hours, it wears off a bit.

When I go to USA I stock up because it's so much cheaper than Australia. I bought 4 bottles and they are all thick. It's a real pain in the neck when you are in a hurry! Tried to google and find a way to thin it out a bit but to no avail. Perhaps heating the bottle so that it all drains out ( after giving the bottle a severe bashing!) and adding a bit of moisturiser to thin it down might help? I haven't tried it yet. Also thought of maybe rose water but not sure if that would mix in without separating. Has anyone complained to revlon? I've been using revlon for 40 years and never had this problem. Ha, maybe I should try something else but I have 4 bottles I have to find out how to use first!

Which formula didn't transfer? Because I've always struggled with foundation transferring and it's so annoying!!!

Glass offers the best taste, is the safest material to drink from and is built to last a lifetime. Check out the Bamboo bottle and the sturdy Life Factory range.
