I RARELY comb my hair! I figured out pretty early that most of the time, it's a LOSE LOSE situation lol. Having 4C hair that coils and shrinks extremely tight can be difficult to detangle because the hair tends to snap back after the comb slides through :) In my case, my hair snaps back and bushes out, kind of like a firework lol, so not only does it coil back onto itself, I lose whatever coil "definition" I have when using a comb lol. So my fingers do the detangling 99% of the time. Although I detangle with my fingers most of the time, I like to do a "detailed" detangling on my fro about 2x a month just to make sure I'm not missing any knots :) Here is what I do: Detangling on semi damp hair has helped me save time and hair! I don't shed nearly as much lol. I hope this helps!
