We tried it again! SMH! We decided to surprise the boys with a trip to our Family Fun Center. Since we had the place to ourselves, which was awesome btw, Ty and I tried to accompany the boys in their element... and once again, we quickly realized that we're not as resilient as we once were lol. The plastic slides and tubes tore us up! So much so that we were both sore the day of and day after going lol! I don't know how those boys do it! They just blast through without issue! Ty and I not so much... :)

I think we all can relate to having to rinse out your hair because of a product not mixing well with something else you had in your hair and it caused, flakes, goo balls, and chunks of product to lodge itself into your hair. (Not to mention if you have curly or coily hair it is a PAIN to wash out!) The problem usually lies when combining water based leave ins and gels together. It can be hit or miss at times, so knowing whether or not they work nicely together BEFORE applying them to your hair can save you lots of time. This is a really easy trick I like to do before mixing products that I'm not familiar with using together in my hair. Example of products that mix well together: Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Styling Gel. Example of products that don't mix well together: Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Leave In Conditioner and Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Styling Gel/ Eco Styler Argan Oil Gel. I can't tell you how many times as a teen I would have cried if I woke up to my hair EXTREMELY smushed lol! I used to despise shrinkage when I was younger However, since learning how to work with and not against my hair, I no longer go into "panic mode" when I wake up this way Last night, (because Ty talked me out of cowashing lol!) I spritzed my hair with a nice amount of water and added some coconut oil as a sort of lengthy pre no-poo. (I'll be washing my hair later tonight.) Well, this is what I woke up to this morning...and this is how I used my secret weapon....SHOWER STEAM!
Good morning!!! Today we shared a vlog from a recent sick day :/ We chilled out at home and made the most of it :D We hope you enjoy!!!
Omg! I took a pretty big risk yesterday and let my hair air dry after cowashing, (Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea All Natural Cowash and Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner) without using any product whatsoever. I have NEVER done this before with my hair...I've always feared that because of its tight shrinkage it would mat up onto itself if there was no form of lubrication. So I was REALLY nervous about even thinking about trying this. However, Ms. Fro shocked me! She actually ended up drying down into an almost identical shape that she normally would! My fro was even more stretched out than when it is with product! However, my hair was far from moisturized lol! It felt almost exactly like my carpet lol! (I checked to make sure!) I'm really happy I decided to do this because it showed me that my regimen thus far, has helped my hair maintain its shape and natural pattern over time. I now know what my hair truly looks like without the help of product and I'm very happy. :) Have you ever seen your hair without product? After I posted my review for the Tangle Tamer Max awhile ago, some people weren't sure what exactly an incomplete split looks like in a hair strand. I drew a picture (it wasn't the best lol!) in that video, but I was able to take an actual pic of a strand I snipped. There are MULTIPLE incomplete splits SMH! And I'm STILL trying to recover from them.
I don't worry TOO much about them at the moment because my hair is still responding well to my regimen and isn't breaking.... so they're just there... and right now, I'm snipping them as my hair grows out. I guess you can say I'm sort of "transitioning" out of them... Be careful with hair tools.... Seriously.... Check out, As I Am Coconut Cowash Review - NaturalMe4C I'm happy to say that I love this Co washing conditioner! I was hesitant to try this line out because of the heavy castor oil. ( I'm doing a modified CG method so I don't want to have to shampoo my hair from build up.) Shockingly, this conditioner works very well for my fro and has made it into my list of faves. I'm working on figuring out my current must haves/staples list lol!
It's very important for us to remember that God wants us to have a great life. He wants us to be successful, happy, taken care of...we are His children! However, it's up to US to follow Him! After all, those good things (happiness, success, love, peace etc.) come from Him! It's important that we don't allow people and things deter us from doing the right things and making the right decisions in life. We don't want to end up losing the wonderful blessings The Lord gave us.
Have a blessed day! For many women, achieving or rockin' lengthy tresses is pretty important. However, what happens when your textures' shrinkage doesn't showcase length? You may have a decent length, but it seems to snap right back up from the slightest bit of water, humidity, or sweat... Does that then make it less beautiful? Not sexy enough? Unattractive? Masculine? Weird? Unhealthy? Absolutely NOT! It is what it is. It's unique... and it's AMAZING! Stay encouraged. :) (Pics are of damp hair from last nights co washing session. I sat under the dryer(low heat) for 15 minutes and this is what my hair did.
Looks like I got ahead of myself with the whole "Ms. Fro is diggin' glycerin now"... (mentioned on Facebook) Today it felt pretty crunchy... It's bringing back memories of last fall SMH! Apparently, my hair is still doing the "soft to crunchy" song and dance with glycerin containing products for my fall twistouts. :/ So I'm about to cowash my hair... Trial and error...still. I had a nice day and a half of softness with this twistout... (Pics are from twists I did Tuesday night and unraveled on Wednesday.) Then the weather got pretty chilly and....Voila! Crunchy Fro! (Pics from tonight) Check out, Out & About (Vlog) - Kriss & Ty Hey everyone! We decided to vlog while were were out clearance shopping at one of our favorite stores yesterday! Come along for the ride! (Silliness involved LOL!)
Check out, I Picked Up Yucca & Baobab (Shea Moisture) - Your thoughts?- NaturalMe4C Have you ever tried the Yucca & Baobab Shea Moisture products? I've heard both awesome reviews and so-so reviews so I wanted to try them out for myself to see how Ms. Fro likes them. I found these products at Walgreens and they are usually about $10.99 each. It's even better if you can catch a sale! I picked up the Anti Breakage Masque, Volumizing Conditioner, and the Thickening Growth Milk (which was a gusty decision since it has humectants.) These products are targeted for people with fine hair (check!) as well as hair that needs some thickening (check!) So we'll see! Now, I never really buy into products that say you're gonna have thicker hair from using it, but I'm hoping these products will make my strands plump up a little and look a little fuller. Woo hoo! Puff's making progress shrinkage and all! I remember when wash & go puffs were like non existent lol! Now my stretched wash & go length is getting longer than my reverted twistout length! Keep moving forward ladies!
It that time again for the boys! Hair cuts!!!! And look who's behind the clippers! Ty lol! Not only does he know how to handle 4c hair (sort of lol!), he cuts the boys hair most of the time. (I've jacked the haircuts up several times in the past lol!) They love to use this time as a sort of male bonding exercise. :) I absolutely LOVE watching the boys interact with their father. Priceless! Good morning!!! I hope you are having an awesome day! It's yet another cloudy rainy day, but a little bit of The Word definitely adds some sunshine to the day! I'm loving these scriptures because it reminds me that The Lord is watching over me each and every day because He truly loves me. Even though I have many shortcomings, He still has mercy and is STILL lookin' out for me. How awesome is HE?!?!
(KJV) Lamentations chapter 3 verse 22-24 22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him God bless!!! |
