![]() Hey everyone! My name is Crystal and I've created this blog to document my hair journey. I've been through a lot and I have learned a whole lot along the way. I have been relaxed for most of my life and never really thought I would ever "go natural". However, after growing my hair out to the longest it had ever been I was still unhappy. My hair was limp and damaged to the point of no return. I tried to avoid the thought of going natural for years. Remembering childhood pictures, I guessed I would be a 4c hair type. The hair type that many dread! Oh no! My hair was too "nappy" and would shrink up way too much. I thought I would be unattractive. I feared what other people would think. On the other hand, I was curious. I started to admire other naturals and I thought they were soo brave for wearing their hair the "uncommon way." I started to question myself. "What are you afraid of? How can you down your natural texture if you've never taken care of it?" I recently decided to make the change and go natural. I had it all planned out. I wanted a 2 year transition and no less. That did not last lol. As my new growth grew in I became excited and anxious to see it and learn how to take care of it. My relaxed ends could not take the new regimen. They were snapping off with the slightest touch! So I big chopped 6 months into my transition and it was the best thing I have ever done for my hair. I had absolutely fallen in love with my hair texture! It was in fact 4C and it was gorgeous! It was soo thick and cottony! Up until then, I always had thin hair that you could see through. I now realize that I was completely wrong about my hair. I believe that everyone has beautiful hair no matter what the "type." God has not given anyone hair that they can't handle. We all can have awesome hair days and it doesn't have to be complicated. I want to help as many people as I can achieve their goals. I hope this blog will be a blessing to you and others!
