Hey! I'm finally 2 years post relaxer/ 18 months natural!!! How far along are you in on your journey? In this video, I'm sharing a quick update as well as some of my current struggles. I hope this helps!
Here are the close ups of my very free form stretched wash & go of today's video. :)
Products in hair: Avocado oil, Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Leave in, Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Curl Defining Creme, & Grapeseed oil.
Hey, Hey!!! :)
I know that sometimes there is just "too many things going on" smh! But even when that happens, it's important for us to keep a positive attitude toward life. After all, Christ is looking out for us each and every day so why fret and freak out? He wants us to succeed in life and WILL guide us through all the craziness. So Rejoice in Him! You'll feel better if you do. :)
(KJV) Philippians chapter 4 verses 4-11
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Here are the close ups of the dog we used to have. He was a cute Fox Red Lab named Eli. It DID NOT work out at all though as we detailed in today's video,http://youtu.be/3GJKqDrkjKM New Addition To The Family? (Not a baby ya'll lol!) - Kriss & Ty (Random Chat). :) We tried ya'll lol... for like 2 years smh!
We're happy that he was able to find a new home and hope he's doing well. Needless to say, the next dog we get will be waaay smaller! :D
Hey! Find out who we're thinking about adding to the family! I'm trying to convince Ty that we can handle it... :D
(BTW, this was a spare of the moment video so please excuse the random "cat calls" and curly fros peekin' in! That's what happens when you film while everyone is awake lol. )
So I'm sharing a quick update on the Eden Body Works creams (Curl Defining Creme and Pudding Souffle) that I said I was going to give a few more shots to see if I can get them to work better for me. :) Well to my surprise, I'm definitely plan to repurchase one of the two. The Curl Defining Cream?!? The one I liked the LEAST back in the summer?!? Yup! That's the one I'm going to repurchase. I found out that it works AWESOME for my wash & go's when paired with avocado oil, the Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Leave in, and Grapeseed oil. I have to use a little more product than I'm used to but it works so nice. It adds a nice weight to my hair and I get a lot of slip with this combo. Not to mention, it leaves my hair nice and soft.
A couple cons: I believe since I have to use a little more product, it can make my scalp a little itchy and leave "barely there flakes." :/ I will try playing around with the ratio to see if it helps out. If it doesn't help, I may not get it again... although I want to lol.
As for the Pudding Souffle, I have no plans on repurchasing that one. I had a slight more success with it in the beginning compared to the Curl Defining Creme, but the second day hair has never been great. Even with using the same combo as I mentioned above, it was FAR from great. In fact, for some reason my hair felt much drier and it was a nightmare to break down. :O So there are just too many misses with that product tight now. The style results always "look" very similar to the creme but they now feel COMPLETELY different. Maybe it's the weather lol. I dunno.
Oh well, at least one's a keeper.. for now lol.
Here are the close ups of the fro I'm rockin' in today's video, Talkin' Bout Moisture! (Moisturizing Regimen Tips For Hair) - NaturalMe4C http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AZeKN5VQMg
This is a heatless blowout. I've attempted this before in the past and in the end it came out well but the process was hilarious lol!!! This time, it went more smoothly and I'd like to post an updated tutorial on this look in the near future.
Here is the old video link of my first attempt last year.

Hey everyone! I decided to share a few more tips on starting a moisturizing regimen for your hair! I've gotten lots of questions concerning dry hair and how to get moisture into hair, so I hope this video is helpful! :D
Get To Know Your Naked Hair
This means to try letting your hair dry naturally without any product. Scary right lol? I've only done this one time so far since being natural. :D Seriously though, this can be a help because it will allow you to see what your hair's current state is. Is it curly, coily, straight, wavy, shiny, no shine? From this, if you hair curly hair, you can also determine your hair type, texture, and natural shrinkage. (Products can have an effect on that.)
Also, don't forget that if you have coily hair, it may feel different in certain types of weather as well as certain styles your rocking. For me, styles like wash and gos, with and with out gel, tend to not feel as soft as a style like a twistout set on dry hair. Although they feel different, it doesn't necessarily mean that one is more moisturized than the other. It's just the nature of my texture and what I've learned from it is that I don't need to use a TON of product on my shrinkage just because it doesn't feel the same as my stretched hair and vice versa.
Know Your Hair Porosity
Finding out what your hair porosity is can help you determine what types of products may work for you. This may cut your "trial and error" phase down a ton!
Short Ingredient List
Some products simply have TOO MANY INGREDIENTS! Choosing things that have smaller ingredient lists can help you quickly figure out what ingredients work well for you as well as the opposite. You also may find yourself taking the time out to research the ingredients listed on the product if the list is shorter... which is always beneficial. :)
Remember that "all natural" isn't always the only way for everyone. Just be mindful of the ingredients you're using and be safe with your choices. Keep in mind that if you are new to using all natural ingredients, it may take some time before your hair starts to accept what you are giving it....especially if you weren't using those things before. I like to think of it like my hair has to "detox" itself lol.
Try Out A Moisturizing Method
LOC, LOCO, LCO, LOCS, there are soo many combos out there lol. You can even make up your own! Remember that there is NO rule as to what works for you. I bounce between a few methods and I tend to only use them as guides. Sometimes I double up on certain steps and sometimes I skip a step. Use the moisturizing methods as a starting point for a regimen and tweak it from there. :)
Moisture Rich Wash Sessions
Try to retain as much moisture as possible during your washing sessions. I personally like to cowash my hair but if you like to use shampoo and find that your hair feels stripped, things like pre pooing and oil rinsing can be helpful with moisture retention. ( I do both of these at times even though I cowash.) Also don't skip on conditioning and deep conditioning sessions. :D
At the end of the day, a hair regimen is all about trial and error. That's the only way you are going to learn to master your haircare routine. Don't give up when certain products or techniques don't seem to work. Remember that when trying new things, it may take time before you see results on your hair, (For me, it tends to take around two weeks to a month.) As always, continue listening to your hair and don't be afraid to tweak your regimen if something isn't right for you. God bless!
Feeling Stressed? Praise will get you through!
(KJV) James chapter 1 verses 2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

High definition alert! If you like twistouts with lots of definition, the SM Hold and Shine Moisture Mist may help. I tried a combo of avocado oil, SM Curl and Shine Conditioner, and SM Hold and Shine Moisture Mist (about 30-35 spritzes over entire head. ( It sounds like a lot of spritzes, but some spritzes were inconsistent.) I did a regular twistout set on damp hair. I was surprised at the amount of hold I got as well as the definition from the twists! Now I personally don't go for definition, I like fluff lol, but I wanted to share the results with you. :D
As for the feel of my hair, it wasn't incredibly soft like with Oyin... but it was ok. I honestly think that the old formula of the mist left my hair softer as well as more moisturized than the new formula. :/ The new one is more watery... Also, the scent although it now states in the ingredients that it has hibiscus extract, it doesn't smell as good as the older one. Go figure...
I will continue trying new ways to use the mist to see if it works better with other things and other styles. :)
