Ahh Smushed Hair... :)

Hey!  This morning, like every morning, I woke up to a smushed head of hair lol. I've gotten questions asking how I handle my hair on the day to day without causing damage, so here's an example of what I like to do... especially for wash and go's and twistouts in which I opted not to re-twist at night. :)

One thing I've learned about my hair is the fact that some sort of shrinkage is inevitable and it's easier for me to work with it instead of trying to completely prevent it. :)

Products:
(This combo leaves me with no stickiness ) On my wash day I used:
Avocado oil
SM Curl and Shine Conditioner as a leave in
SM Curl Enhancing Smoothie
SM Curling Souffle

Hi Crystal

Thanks for the idea of mixing the Shea moisture curling gel souffle. I mixed it with curl unleashed curl defining cream.

I loved the moisture the curling gel souffle left but not the stickiness.

Now mixing with the curl unleashed it feels amazingly soft without the sticky. Yahooooo

My hair looks very similar to yours. To un-smoosh my hair, I spritz and flick - spritz with water while flicking the flattened parts with my fingers so the water can get underneath. My hair re-poofs on its own within 5 to 10 minutes. I finish with a little picking and fluffing where needed. Easy-peasy! I should mention, though, I don't do braidouts or twistouts. I do wash-n-go's (defining my curls by finger raking Wet Line Xtreme gel through my conditioned hair). My curls dry by the end of the day, and the gel locks those curls in for days! I'm always amazed at how the flattened curls pop back out with a little water in the morning.

Love your blog!

I love your YouTube channel and I just discovered this blog. I just started wearing my hair curly in a wash and go on Friday. I had been watching your videos as well as others for weeks in preparation for wearing my hair naturally. Your tutorials helped me a lot. On a side note, I've decided that no matter how your hair is, you look great! You have a pretty face but probably more importantly your personality shines through. I think that one thing my TWA has made me do is smile. I smile a lot more now and that makes any hairstyle look cuter.
