Relaxed days lol
I am soo happy!  I can't believe I made it 1 year post relaxer on Feb 3, 2013!  I am also 6 months natural as of today!   I remember making the decision to transition.... I was nervous and a little anxious lol. I wasn't sure how my husband would take it lol. And I really wasn't sure how I was going to make it!
I had never been able to go without relaxing my hair or using direct heat... ever since I was little.  So how in the world was I going to stop doing those things???  Well, I really wanted to be successful transitioning and I was 100% sure that I was ready to take that step.  Staying prayerful throughout my journey helped me stay calm when I  wasn't "feelin" my hair lol.  (Sigh... there were many days like that when I was transitioning lol)

I have learned soo much about my hair and myself since doing the big chop. It really has affected my life in a great way. I take better care of myself a lot better than before.  I'm trying to eat healthier and reduce everyday stress lol.  I have more  confidence than before and it may sound crazy, but I finally feel like "me."     I'm really proud that I made the decision to embrace my natural texture :)    I'm proud that I have grown up and changed my mentality on how I feel about my 4C hair.  All hair types are beautiful!  I can't  believe that I thought my hair was horrible when I was younger.   I've learned that my hair type doesn't need very much to thrive.  4C hair is not "hard to manage" as it was once believed to be.
Working with my fro and not against it, is what has kept the peace up in here lol!  I used to think that my relaxed hair was the easier way to go....when in fact it, for me, it is the exact opposite!  I don't worry about my hair nearly as much as I did before.  I now spend only a fraction of the time I used to spend styling my hair. ( Unless I'm trying something new, it only takes me about 7 minutes each morning.  That's it!)   I've have learned that this hair type is one of the most versatile there is!  There's pretty much no style 4C hair can't achieve :D  How awesome is that???!!!  LOL
This journey as been a blast thus far and I can't wait to see how much progress my fro makes in the future.   I know that I have made the right decision for myself by going natural and I know that I will remain this way for the rest of my life.  Thank you Jesus!

Congrats on your anniversary! It's just interesting that once we start taking care of our hair better, how that effects how we start taking care of the rest of our bodies. I know that I have become a better eater and am looking for ways to improve my overall health: skin and nails and muscles! Thank you again, for sharing your journey... I'll soon be your number 1 fan!
